Our quality control initiative includes a dedicated QC team that continually monitors all production; an in-house microbiological testing lab; an on-site USDA inspection office; rigorous adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plans; and certification of our organic production by Quality Assurance International (QAI).
We have a comprehensive process to ensure the safety and full traceability of our raw materials and finished goods. This begins with a strict vendor approval program that each potential supplier must pass before purchases can be authorized. Raw materials undergo a comprehensive inspection upon arrival. Our manufacturing facilities are equipped with comprehensive analytical testing capabilities and systems to track specific ingredients to the finished goods they were used in and the customers to whom they were sold.
Protein cooking is handled at a plant which is physically separated from our main processing and packaging facility, avoiding any risk of cross-contamination from raw proteins.
In 2010 Overhill Farms was certified as meeting the standards of FSSC 22000, making us the first frozen food manufacturer in the United States to receive this recognition from SGS SA, the Geneva-based inspection and verification service that oversees this important international standards program.
